First Use:
Our olive and teak boards come ready to use, they do not need any additional preparation.
But if you want, you can wash them with water and dry them, as a general rule for any piece of our kitchenware.
Instructions for the care of olive and teak wood boards:
1. Washing: Wash your Erreke teak wood board by hand. Always use cold or warm water, never hot. You can use soap and a soft sponge. Do not use a dishwasher. Do not immerse the board in water.
2. Drying: Dry it very well with a cloth. Then place the board on a drainer to dry completely. Preferably do not expose it to direct sunlight.
3. Care: Apply a food-safe mineral oil to the entire surface of the wood every 2 months. The board will absorb the oil overnight, hydrating it and increasing its durability.
4. Potential Stains and Odors: If your board gets stained, sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb the liquid and then clean as usual. To treat odors, use white vinegar or lemon juice on the affected area.
5. Repair: It is normal for the board to warp, as wood sometimes adapts to the humidity of the environment; it will correct itself in a few days.
General Recommendations:
• Do not use steel wool pads or dishwasher.
• Do not leave boards to soak; dry them immediately after washing with a cloth.
• Preferably dry them in the shade.
• Wash the product before first use.
• We recommend the continued use of mineral oil, applying it at least once every 2-3 months to the entire surface of the product.
• After use, wash it with a soft sponge and mild soap or detergent, using warm or cold water.
• Store in a well-ventilated area (avoid closed drawers and cabinets).
• Do not stack anything on the boards when they are wet.
