Do the cake moulds need any preparation before first use?
Our moulds are already prepared for use, they do not need any additional preparation.
We recommend washing with water and drying it, as a general measure for any piece of our kitchenware.
What are the recommendations for the care of my cake mould?
Washing: Wash your Erreke mould by hand. Always use cold or warm water, never hot. You can use soap and a soft sponge. Do not use a dishwasher.
Drying: Dry it very well with a cloth. Then place the mold on a drainer to dry completely. Preferably do not expose it to direct sunlight.
What other precautions should I take?
• Do not use steel wool scouring pads.
• Do not clean it in the dishwasher.
• Do not stack anything on top of the molds that may damage their non-stick coating.
• Do not use knives or sharp objects to remove the mold.
Recommendations for removing the mold?
When removing it from the oven, place the mold on a metal rack.
Let it cool for 10 to 15 minutes.
Then turn it upside down and gently tap the mold on a flat surface 2-3 times.
The cake will come out of the mold very easily and in perfect condition.
Should I use a release spray on my mold?
It is not necessary because the Erreke mould has a double non-stick coating, which makes it easier to remove from the mould.
However, if you have a mould with complex geometry and you are not very confident, you can apply a light layer of release spray or the traditional layer of melted butter and flour.
Do kitchen boards need any preparation before first use?
Our olive and teak boards are already prepared for use, they do not need any additional preparation.
But if you want, you can wash them with water and dry them, as a general measure for any piece of our kitchen tableware.
What are the recommendations for the care of my new kitchen board?
Washing: Wash your Erreke wooden board by hand. Always use cold or warm water, never hot. You can use soap and a soft sponge. Do not use a dishwasher. Do not immerse the board in water.
Drying: Dry it very well with a cloth. Then place the board on a drainer to dry completely. Preferably do not expose it to direct sunlight.
Maintenance: Apply a food-safe mineral oil to the entire surface of the wood every 2 months. The board will absorb the oil overnight, moisturizing it and increasing its durability.
Possible stains and odors: If your board becomes stained, sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb the liquid and then clean as usual. To treat odors, use white vinegar or lemon juice on the affected area.
It is normal, in some cases, for the teak board to warp slightly, but do not worry, as teak wood adapts to the humidity of the environment and will correct itself in a few days.
What other precautions should I take?
• Do not use steel wool pads or dishwashers.
• Do not leave the boards to soak; dry them immediately after washing with a cloth.
• Preferably dry them in the shade.
• Wash the product before first use.
• We recommend the continuous use of mineral oil, applying it at least once every 2-3 months to the entire surface of the product.
• After use, wash with a soft sponge and mild soap or detergent, using lukewarm or cold water.
• Store in a well-ventilated place (avoid closed drawers and cupboards).
• Do not stack anything on the boards when they are wet.
Do Erreke moulds and boards comply with European Union health standards?
All our moulds and boards comply with EU Regulation 1935/2004 on products that come into contact with food, guaranteeing their safety to health.
