Fitting

Two options. On the door: it hangs from the suction cups on doors up to 5 cm thick, with no drilling. On the wall: it screws in place if you want to leave it in one spot.

Measure the thickness of your door before ordering. Five centimetres covers the standard flat door, but it's worth checking.

Care

The cotton cover is hand washed cold and air dried. Don't put it in the tumble dryer: the felt padding loses its loft.

Fold it away dry. If you store it with steam moisture still in it, the mesh and the cover pick up a smell.

Why this ironing board

What makes it different

Steel frame, not plastic
1 / 5

Steel frame, not plastic

Oval steel tube and a metal mesh surface: everything that carries the weight is metal. You feel it when you hang it up, it doesn't give or creak when you push down on the iron. Cheap over-door boards have a frame made entirely of plastic with fabric on top, and that's exactly where they break.

Hangs on the door, no drilling

Hangs on the door, no drilling

The suction cups grip doors up to 5 cm. You hang it, iron and take it down. If you'd rather leave it fixed, it also screws to the wall.

The problem with ironing in a small flat isn't the iron, it's where to put the board. This one folds against the door and disappears.

Metal mesh: the steam goes through
4 / 5

Metal mesh: the steam goes through

The surface is perforated, so the steam passes straight through instead of condensing between the garment and the board. Clothes come out dry, with no moisture coming back at them.

Made in Portugal and certified

220 gram felt padding, which is what stops seams marking through. And it meets NF D80-010, the French standard for ironing boards: stability and strength measured by a third party, not promised by the maker.

Frequently asked questions

Does it hold firm or wobble?

It holds. Everything that carries the weight is metal: the oval steel tube of the frame and the mesh of the surface. Plastic is limited to grips and catches, which carry nothing. That's the difference with cheap over-door boards, where the whole frame is plastic and gives way in the second month.

Will it fit my door?

If your door is no more than 5 cm thick, yes. That's the size of the standard flat door, but measure it first so there are no surprises. And if you'd rather not hang it, it screws to the wall.

Do I need to drill?

Not on the door: it goes on with suction cups. Only if you decide to fix it permanently to the wall.

Does it stand up to a powerful steam iron?

Yes. The surface is metal mesh precisely so the steam goes through rather than condensing against the clothes. And the cover is cotton with 220 g felt padding, which is what takes the heat.

Can the cover be washed?

Yes, by hand in cold water and air dried. Don't put it in the tumble dryer: the felt loses its loft and that's when seams start marking through.

And if I'm not convinced?

You have 60 days to send it back, free and without explaining yourself. Message us on WhatsApp from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and we handle it ourselves.
