Care

Wash it by hand with warm water and mild soap, and dry it standing on its edge. Don't put it in the dishwasher and don't leave it soaking.

Every two or three months, a thin coat of food-grade mineral oil. On the live edge, which is real bark, the oil is what keeps the colour.

Every piece is different

The live edge is the real outline of the trunk, so no two pieces share a silhouette. The grain, the knots and the measurements change from one to the next.

It carries bark on the edge and may have a more rustic patch. That's not a flaw or an oversight: it's the part of the tree that was deliberately left alone, sanded and sealed with the same food-safe oil as the rest. It's exactly what you're buying.

The one you receive won't be exactly the one in the photo. That isn't a flaw either: it's what makes sure there isn't another like it.

Why this board

What makes it different

Live edge: the outline of the trunk
1 / 5

Live edge: the outline of the trunk

The edge isn't cut square: it's the real shape of the tree, with its bark sanded and sealed. That's why no two share a silhouette.

Rustic on purpose
2 / 5

Rustic on purpose

It may carry bark on the edge and a patch with more character. That's not a finishing fault: it's the part of the tree that was left alone, and it's what separates a handmade piece from a machine-cut panel.

Solid acacia, not plywood
3 / 5

Solid acacia, not plywood

Hard, dense wood in a single piece. No glued layers that come apart on the third wash.

Frequently asked questions

Why doesn't my board look like the one in the photo?

Because the live edge is the real outline of the trunk and each piece comes from a different tree. The silhouette, the grain and the measurements change from one to the next. It's real wood, not a machine-cut panel.

Can it have bark or a rustic patch?

Yes, and it's what makes it this board and not another one. The bark on the edge and the patches with more character are kept on purpose; they're sanded and sealed with the same food-safe oil as the rest. It isn't a finishing fault.

Is it dishwasher safe?

No. Solid wood swells and cracks with heat and pressurised water. Wash it by hand with warm water and mild soap, and dry it standing on its edge.

Is the bark edge safe to touch?

Yes. It's sanded and sealed with the same food-safe oil as the rest of the board. Over time, if it starts to look dry, a thin coat of oil brings the colour back.

Is it for chopping or just for serving?

It works for chopping, but it's mainly built for serving. If you're after the board you chop on every day with a heavy knife, a thick end grain block will suit you better.

What if I don't like it?

You have 60 days to send it back, free and without explaining yourself. Message us on WhatsApp from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and we handle it ourselves.
