The three positions
Over the sink. This is the headline position: the telescopic arms rest on both edges of the bowl and the water falls straight in. It takes up no worktop at all.
Inside the sink. For washing a load and leaving it to drain out of sight.
On the worktop. Here the water doesn't fall into the sink, and that's what the silicone mat is for: put it underneath, it collects the drips and you empty it when you're done.
The arms go from 38 to 50 cm, so they cover most single-bowl sinks.
Care
Dry it now and then, especially the arms and the joints. Standing water is what leaves limescale marks.
The silicone mat washes separately with soap and water. If limescale appears, a cloth with warm white vinegar and then rinse. No metal scourers on the black coating.
